And here, we wanted to go over them really quickly so that you might figure out what’s going on with YOUR home.
Here they are…
Bad Agent — Maybe you ended up using an agent who’s just not marketing your house very diligently. You might consider listing with a new agent if it’s taken more than 3 or 4 months to find a buyer.
Outdated — Are your home’s appliances very outdated? Today’s buyers prefer a modern, fresh, and updated look, so this could certainly be a reason that a home is struggling to sell.
Unrepaired — Selling a home on the MLS that ISN’T in pristine condition is really difficult. If there are a lot of things that need to be repaired, or even if the home is just dirty… that can turn away a lot of potential buyers.
Overpriced — If your home hasn’t sold for quite some time and everything else is up to snuff (repairs are made, home is updated and clean, etc), then the problem might be that the home is overpriced. Check it against other similar home prices in the area and see how it compares.
Poor Timing — Sometimes, the timing is just off. Spring, fall, and summer, for instance, are all better times to sell than winter… and there are even benefits to listing a home on a Friday over a Sunday. If this is the case, though, and you’ve got enough time to spare, it’ll pay to be patient.
